Shopping on the Internet
Going out shopping used to be a fun experience for people and it got them out of the house. People now have to fight the crowd for that one day sale not making it as much fun. People now can just go online and buy clothes and electronics instead of fighting the mall crowds. All you have to do is search for an item online and you can find different retailers and compare prices for what you want to buy. The Internet has made it possible for people to buy things that they usually wouldn't find in local stores. Plus the internet alows people to compare prices on different items. Still alot of people like to go out and shop but they have other options if they can't find what they are looking for. The Internet also makes it possible for people that live in places that are far away from cities and towns to be able to buy things that they usually couldn't. The Internet has change the way of shopping around the world. To keep up with the new trends around the world is just one click away along with a link to buy what is out. Just because the Internet has made it easier to shop doesn't mean that people stopped going out to shop. People use the Internet to make their shopping easier.

The Internet and Music
The way we listen to music today has greatly changed since the Internet has opened many doors into the music world. It used to be that you had to go out and by the new CD that you heard about from a friend or try to record it off the radio with a cassette tape. Today all you have to do is go online and download the new top song. This makes it convenient for the person downloading the song rather than having to go out and buy the whole Cd just for one song. The Internet has made this possible, but not all songs are paid for. This hurts CD sales and allows for people to illegally down load music causing a loss in music sales in general. Since there has been a ban on illegal downloading of music this has helped the music industry greatly in the loss of CD sales. The Internet has also allowed unheard of bands to be heard. This is great for for people trying to make it in the music industry. So not all things are bad when it comes to the Internet and music but some people try to take advantage of the situation. The Piracy Act is cracking down on those certain individuals so they don't ruin it for the rest of us.

What Happend to Going Outside?
When I was a kid growing up we didn't have the Internet. If we were bored we went outside to play, not go play games on the Internet. To me it seems that kids now and days spend more time on the computer than going outside and getting exercise. When I was ten I was outside all the time and had fun being outside. Now if you want your kid to go outside you have to pull them away from the computer and then listen to them complain because they didn't finish the level on their game. Kids are becoming less prone to going outside and playing because parents do not restrict their online usage. No one made me go outside as a kid, I wanted to go. I hated being in the house all the time. We didn't have the video games and chat rooms on the Internet like kids have today. We had to physically go outside and go to a friends houses. I believe that this is a problem and parents should make their children go outside and get exercise. If kids do not get the exercise they need then they are prone to becoming overweight. It is sad to me seeing 4 year old on the Internet when they should be out side playing. No I do not believe that the Internet is evil and that kids shouldn't use it. I'm just saying that kids need to be more physically active and should be restricted to the use of it.

What about Books?
The Internet has made society not have to leave their homes. This can be a good thing in some ways but bad in other ways. It is good if you are physical unable to leave your home without assistance, but bad for some buisnesses. Bookstores are one of the many businesses that are affected. While I was thinking about going to the bookstore the other day I realized that there is only one left that is near me. I used to be able to pick from three different book stores. Books are being replaced by nooks and other technical devices. Even school books are now either on CD's or school websites. I personally like going to a book store and roaming around for a few hours. I take comfort in it. Even though I do own a nook it is only because my sister gave it to me and I rarely use it. The Internet is making it so that you do not have to have a physical book in your hands or go to the book store to pick up the latest novel. All you have to do is down load it from a website now. To me it seems that the internet is making books obsolete. So what will happen if all the book stores close?

What I think
The Internet in my opinion has affected society in ways that no one ever expected. It was created first to access information then it was used to communicated with people around the world. Now and days you don't even have to leave your house for anything. You can go online shop for clothes, food and pretty much anything else you want or need. People have more online friends than physical friends. This in my opinion makes people not want to leave their homes which in turn makes them lazy. Don't get me wrong I use the internet almost every day but I still have a social life outside of my home.
